PPS Mutual Welcomes New Member to Board


Specialist insurance company PPS Mutual today announces the appointment of Anthony Asher to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Dr. Asher will play a role in enhancing the company’s strategic direction and strengthening the board’s overall capabilities.

With a distinguished career in actuarial science and senior management roles across the financial services sector, Dr. Asher brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will help to further the mutual life insurance company’s strategic vision and long-term goals.

Chief Executive Michael Pillemer said Dr. Asher’s deep understanding of the life insurance and wealth management industries, combined with his academic and research contributions, will be invaluable as the firm continues to deliver tailored risk insurance solutions to professionals in the Australian market.

Alongside his new position on the PPS Mutual board, Dr. Asher currently serves as an Associate Professor at UNSW Business School, Director of the non-profit organisation Fresh Hope Communities, and is actively involved in Actuaries Institute committees.

Dr. Asher has held senior management and board roles in various financial institutions, including his role as Chief Actuary for Prudential in South Africa. His experience also includes roles at APRA and Deloitte in Australia, where he provided consulting services to the life, wealth management, and superannuation industries.
